🇬🇧Four creative session between the group DAGADANA and the band of Marius Andrei Alexe, leader and producer of Subcarpați, took place in Bucharest as part of a collaboration between the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw.
Held at the Subcarpați Cultural Center from February 24-28, the session aimed to create new compositions and musical arrangements inspired by the folk heritage of Poland and Romania. We can’t wait to hear the results of this musical synergy, and we are convinced that this cross-cultural collaboration will bring many creative surprises!
DAGADANA, founded in 2008 by Daga Gregorowicz (Poznań) and Dana Vynnytska (Lviv), blends Polish and Ukrainian cultural elements through jazz, electronic, avant-pop, and world music influences.
Subcarpați, a Romanian hip-hop band from Bucharest, was founded in 2010 by Mc Bean (Marius Andrei Alexe). Their music fuses hip-hop with traditional Romanian folk, reinterpreting classic motifs in an underground folk style. The Guardian has described their sound as an "explosive mix of old and new," combining melancholic folk songs, unity chants, traditional instruments, and trip-hop, dubstep, hip-hop, and dancehall rhythms.
The Poland-Romania Cultural Season 2024-2025 is organized by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, with support from the Polish Institute in Bucharest, the Romanian Ministry of Culture (Ministerul Culturii), and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw (Institutul Cultural Român Varşovia).

🇵🇱 W Bukareszcie odbyły się cztery twórcze sesje grupy DAGADANA z zespołem lidera i producenta Subcarpați, Mariusa Andrei Alexego, będąca efektem współpracy Instytutu Adama Mickiewicza i Rumuński Instytut Kultury w Warszawie / Institutul Cultural Român Varşovia.
Sesja, która odbyła się w Centrum Kultury Subcarpați w Bukareszcie w dniach 24-28 lutego, miała na celu stworzenie nowych utworów i aranżacji muzycznych opartych na dziedzictwie muzyki ludowej Polski i Rumunii. Nie możemy doczekać się efektów tej muzycznej synergii i jesteśmy przekonani, że dzięki współpracy między naszymi krajami czeka nas wszystkich wiele wspaniałych, twórczych zaskoczeń!
DAGADANA została założona w 2008 roku przez Dagę Gregorowicz z Poznania i Danę Vynnytską ze Lwowa. Zespół łączy elementy kultury polskiej i ukraińskiej w aranżacjach jazzowych, elektronicznych, avant-popowych i etno / world music.
Subcarpați to rumuński zespół hip-hopowy z Bukaresztu. Został założony w 2010 roku przez Mc Bean (Alexe Marius Andrei) i łączy hip-hop z elementami rumuńskiej muzyki ludowej. Gatunek ten stara się reinterpretować popularne motywy charakterystyczne dla rumuńskiej muzyki tradycyjnej i jest często określany jako „podziemny folk”. Brytyjska gazeta The Guardian opisała Subcarpați jako „wybuchową mieszankę starego i nowego. To eklektyczna kombinacja, która łączy melancholijne rumuńskie pieśni ludowe, rumuńskie pieśni jedności, tradycyjne instrumenty i rytmy trip-hopu, dubstepu, hip-hopu i dancehallu".
Za przygotowanie i realizację programu Sezonu Kulturalnego Polska-Rumunia 2024-2025 odpowiadają polskie Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego i Instytut Adama Mickiewicza, przy wsparciu Institutul Polonez / Instytut Polski w Bukareszcie, oraz rumuńskie Ministerstwo Kultury (Ministerul Culturii) i Rumuński Instytut Kultury w Warszawie / Institutul Cultural Român Varşovia.
